Weigh-in Results

Here are the results from today’s weigh-in for Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Noons II which took place at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California at 4:00 p.m. PST.  Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Noons II will go down at the same location tomorrow night, Saturday, October 9.

In the main event of Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Noons II, Strikeforce Welterweight Champ Nick Diaz (22-7) of Stockton, California, defends his belt against KJ Noons (9-1) of San Diego, California.  This fight will be a rematch from a fight three years ago when Noons was given the win after the ringside doctor ruled that Diaz could not continue due to a bad cut over his right eye.

Main Fight Card

  • Nick Diaz (22-7) 169 ½  vs  KJ Noons (9-1) 169
    • Diaz looked very focused and intense.  After the pose down for the photographers, Diaz gave Noons a somewhat-friendly slap on his stomach
    • 170 lb. limit;  5 x 5

  • Josh Thomson (17-3) 155 ¼  vs  JZ Cavalcante (15-3) 155 ¾
    • Both fighters looked very cut, with Cavalcante rocking a six pack.
    • 155 lb. limit;  3 x 5

  • Sarah Kaufman (12-0) 134 ¼  vs  Marloes Coenen (17-4) 134
    • Coenen has a big height advantage over Kaufman and is in much better shape.  Coenen had a six pack while Kaufman looked just a little bit flabby.
    • 135 lb. limit;  5 x 5

  • Tyron Woodley (7-0) 170 ½  vs  Andre Galvao (5-1) 170 ½
    • Both fighters appeared to be in great shape.  Galvao has a noticeable height advantage
    • 170 lb. limit;   3 x 5

Non-televised Undercard

  • James Terry (7-2) 170  vs  David Marshall (8-1) 169 ½
    • Marshall has a big height advantage over Terry
    • 170 lb. limit;  3 x 5

  • Ron Keslar (5-2) 180  vs  Josh McDonald (7-4)  179
    • catchweight limit of 180 lb.;  3 x 5

    • 155 lb. limit;  3 x 5

CAMO Bay Area Regional Finals

  • Steve Dickey (4-1) 239 ½  vs  Justin Willis  271
    • Willis is a possible replacement for Frank Davis who did not weigh in

  • Justin Bronson (2-0) 219 ½  vs  Robert Johnson (2-0) 226
    • 230 lb. limit; 3 x 2

    • 185 lb. limit; 3 x 2

  • Jared Hess (2-0) 169 ½  vs  Eric Faria (3-0) 168 ¼
    • Not sure how old Faria is but he has a decent amount of gray hair and his body doesn’t look to be in the best of shape
    • 170 lb. limit;  3 x 2

  • Alan Francis Perez (1-1) 152  vs  Johnathan Del Rosario (1-0) 156 ½
    • It was announced that Del Rosario had to cut some weight and would be able to weigh in again in a few hours.  It should be noted that Del Rosario already looked very sweaty when he weighed in so he may have been trying to lose weight before the weigh-in took place
    • 155 lb. limit;  3 x 2

  • David Blanco (1-0) 144 ¾  vs  Christian Buron (2-1)  142 ¾
