Weigh-in Information for Strikeforce: Diaz-Noons II

The Weigh-in

The weigh-in for Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Noons II will be taking place on Friday, October 8, 20010 at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California.  In the main event, Strikeforce Welterweight Champ Nick Diaz (22-7) of Stockton, California, defends his belt against KJ Noons (9-1) of San Diego, California.  This fight will be a rematch from a fight three years ago when Noons was given the win after the ringside doctor ruled that Diaz could not continue due to a bad cut over his right eye.  These fighters clearly do not like each other so don’t be shocked if some type of altercation erupts at the weigh-in. 

The weigh-in will be taking place in the main part of the arena and is free and open to the public.  Doors open at 3:30 p.m. and the weigh-in is set to begin at 4:00 p.m.  However, unless you are a member of the media and have a press pass, you won’t be getting anywhere close to the fighters.  You will want to bring a good camera because you will be a good distance away from the scales.  Expect to see Jimmy Lennon, Jr. announcing the fighters, just like on fight night. 

This will be second time that Strikeforce has held a weigh-in at the HP Pavilion, beginning with the Fedor vs. Werdum fight back in June.  Previously, Strikeforce staged the weigh-ins at the Marriott Downtown San Jose but the capacity simply was not enough for the huge crowds that showed up.  Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Noons II will be taking place at the HP Pavilion on Saturday night, October 9, 2010.

The Fight

For those lucky enough to have tickets to Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Noons II, doors open at 4:00 p.m., the prelim fights will begin at 4:30 p.m. with the main fight card taking place beginning at 7 p.m.   Catch Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Noons II on Showtime at Saturday, October 9 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
