SAP OPEN
ANNOUNCES TIME CHANGE TO ORDER OF PLAY
FOR SATURDAY,
FEBRUARY 16
SAN JOSE, Calif.
- The SAP Open announced today a schedule change
to the order of play for Saturday, February 16.
The new schedule
will be:
DAY SESSION - 12:15 p.m.
Singles Semi-Final
#1 - #2 John ISNER (USA) vs.#4 Tommy HAAS (GER)
followed by (Not before 4 p.m.) Singles Semi-Final
#2 - #1 Milos RAONIC (CAN) or #6 Denis ISTOMIN (UZB)
vs. #3 Sam Querrey (USA) or Alejandro FALLA COL).
NIGHT SESSION - 7 p.m.
Mixed-Doubles
Exhibition Match- Andy RODDICK/Stefanie GRAF vs.
Justin GIMELSTOB/Lindsey DAVENPORT followed by
Doubles
Semi-Final #2.
With remaining
players participating in both the singles and
doubles fields, the scheduling change became
necessary to allow players a suitable amount of
time to rest between matches. Per ATP
guidelines, a player participating in both
singles and doubles matches on the same day will
play the singles match prior to the doubles
match.
HP Pavilion at
San Jose will open its doors at 10:30 a.m
The Bank of the West Classic is
one of the oldest
women-only professional tennis tournaments in the world and is
the first stop of
the Olympus US Open Series. A WTA Premier event, the Bank of the West
Classic features
a 28-player singles draw and a 16-team doubles draw with total
prize money of $700,000.
Held on Stanford University's campus at the Taube Family Tennis
Stadium since 1997,
former champions include: Billie Jean King, Chris Evert, Martina
Navratilova, Andrea
Jaeger, Monica Seles, Martina Hingis, Lindsay Davenport and
Venus Williams. The
Bank of the West Classic is owned and operated by IMG.

semifinalist Yanina Wickmayer. And if that wasn’t enough, the
doubles draw will feature three-time Grand Slam champion Lindsay
Davenport playing with Liezel Huber, the world’s #1 ranked
doubles player.
