Patience Pays Off For
San Jose
“You’re going to be in tight game and you need
to be in those,”----Rob Blake

Saturday
night, the San Jose Sharks took on the Columbus Blue Jackets at HP
Pavilion hoping to string up two consecutive wins. Since coming off
the long Olympic break, the Sharks have started slow but have been
able to turn it on in the 3rd period. That’s risky
business anyway you look at it. San Jose almost got away with it last
Tuesday night scoring 3 goals inside of three minutes but came up
short. Thursday night they fell behind once again but pulled it out
in the third period winning that game against the Canadians. The
Sharks need to start the way they have been finishing to truly get
back on track. .....STORY>> |

After an overtime loss to
the Chicago Blackhawks last Thursday night, the San Jose Sharks took
on the Minnesota Wild at HP Pavilion Saturday night. The Sharks had
an uncharacteristic slow start against the Blackhawks and hoped for a
fast start against Minnesota. It was a decent start for the Sharks
although not enough to keep the Wild out of the net as they scored the
first goal of the evening for the early 1-0 lead. San Jose quickly
turned things around tying the game when Jason Demers scored his third
career goal assisted by Many Malhotra and Ryane Clowe. With seconds
left in the first period, the Wild broke the tie to take the lead on
their second power play goal of the game......STORY>>

us,”---Jed Ortmeyer

Saturday
night the San Jose Sharks took on the Buffalo Sabres in the first of
two meetings this year. As has been the case all year, the game was
enjoyed by a sellout crowd. This was the first appearance of Craig
Rivet and Mike Grier since they were traded to Buffalo from San Jose.
This game would be fast paced giving the Sharks all they could
handle....STORY >>>

Sharks All Over Edmonton One More Time
“You still have to go out and produce and play hard,”---Joe
Thornton
By Barbara
Mason 01-16-10
It didn’t take the
San Jose Sharks long to begin the dismissal of the struggling Edmonton
Oilers meeting at HP Pavilion Saturday for an afternoon contest. The
red-hot #12 Patrick Marleau scored the first goal of the game (32nd
goal of the season) assisted by #15 Dany Heatley (26th
assist) and #19 Joe Thornton (50th assist) for the early
1-0 lead, and the Sharks were off to the races. Proving that they
are not to be taken lightly despite their struggles, the Oilers tied
up the game at 15:58 when #37 Denis Grebeshkov scored. The Sharks
wanted to take the lead into the locker room and that’s exactly what
they did off a power play goal. It was #16 Devon Setoguchi who broke
the tie with his 11th goal of the season at 18:44. He was
assisted by #27 Manny Malhotra (8th assist) and #29 Ryane
Clowe (21st assist)...STORY >>> |
