The San Francisco Giants have come a long way since their last World Series win as the New York Giants on October 2nd, 1954. Now here they are 56 years later in the 2010 World Series representing San Francisco and proving to be unstoppable against the best hitting team in the ALCS, the Texas Rangers.

Giant’s manager, Bruce Bochy, has a rock star team of misfits passionate about baseball, and together they rule on and off the field. Incredibly skilled pitchers, Tim “The Freak” Lincecum, Matt “Big Sugar” Cain, Bryan “Fear the Beard” Wilson, Jeremy Affeldt, Jonathan Sanchez, and Madison Bumgarner all brought their own epic pitching mechanics. Bochy also has phenomenal players and hitters such as, Juan Uribe, Aubrey Huff, Pat “The Bat” Burrell, Pablo “The Kung Fu Panda” Sandoval, Andre Torres, Buster Posey, Cody “The Boss” Ross, and Edgar Renteria all whom served the game at best coming out on top.

Giants fever became an epidemic amongst ecstatic fans hyped up about the World Series all over the Bay Area. They would randomly yell out “Go Giants!” No matter what they were talking about or what they were doing. Many hoped the Giants would win the World Series in their hometown at AT&T Park, but Giants seized every opportunity to go for it in Arlington, Texas.

The Giants had three wins with two shutouts and one loss against the Texas Rangers, and as of November 1st, 2010, it all came down to Game 5 at Arlington Stadium. Renteria hits a three-run home run in the top of the 7th inning with two outs giving the Giants a 3-0 lead. Lincecum throws all the right moves pitching 8 innings with 10 strikeouts before Wilson takes the mound to close out the 9th inning. Then suddenly “The Beard” throws up his final strikeout “X” sign and the Giants crowd goes wild! The San Francisco Giants have done it! They have won the World Series title!

The outburst of emotion coming from all the loyal fans that never stopped believing in the Giants united to celebrate a victory that will go down in history. They are hooting and hollering, high-fiving each other and giving mad props to all the Giants players who made it all happen. Whether it was Huff’s red rally thong or Wilson’s gigantic feared beard that led the team to a winning streak, the very superstitious Giants, just a bunch of guys who love to play baseball went “balls to the wall” and rocked Texas becoming the World Series Champs.
