“This was a completely different match than I had played so far in the tournament. The other players like (Vera) Zvonareva and (Nicole) Vaidisova played similar tennis. They were aggressive, hit the ball deep, and played with some pace. It was definitely not the case today. Patty mixes it up with her lefty serve and it is a little bit tricky. Once I got through that I started to feel comfortable out there.”

“I know that when I play against (Patty) she is not going to hit winners every time. She’s going to go for the angle more and play with a lot of top spin so you have time to get behind the ball and play aggressive tennis. Today was more a matter of being patient and waiting for the right shot to come instead of going for it.”
