SANTA CLARA, CA* (June 23, 2009)- FC Gold Pride will celebrate the 10thanniversary of the historic 1999 World Cup Championship captured by the prolific U.S. Women’s Soccer Team.  The celebration will be held at Buck
Shaw Stadium at Santa Clara University as part of the excitement surrounding the Pride’s match against the Saint Louis Athletica at 5 p.m.

The Pride will recognize Brandi Chastain, Tiffeny Milbrett, Tisha Venturini-Hoch and Lori Fair for their team's accomplishments ten years ago, when the United States defeated China in a penalty kick shootout at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.  The game, played in front of a crowd of 90,185, remains the best-attended women's sporting event in history and raised the
profile of women's soccer globally for years to come.

Fans will be given an opportunity to meet, get autographs and take photos with Venturini-Hoch and Fair in the pregame fan festival.  Fans are invited to celebrate and relive the historic tournament throughout the day with interactive elements in the pregame fan festival including a display of memorabilia from the tournament which will feature the Golden Boot Trophy,
Replica Championship trophy, championship medals, jerseys worn by tournament participants and much more.
