Blues Have the Sharks Right Where They Want Them “we put ourselves in a corner and we’ve just got to fight our way back.”--Joe

The stage had been set, the lines drawn. The San Jose
Sharks needed a win Thursday night as they took on the St. Louis Blues at HP
Pavilion in Game 4. Trailing 2-1 the Sharks did not want to dig a deeper
hole as they travel back to St. Louis for Game 5 Saturday night. San Jose
has had a tough time handling the Blues; their speed, their defense, and
their power play which has turned up 5 goals in this series. San Jose’s
power kill had been less than stellar and with line changes for Thursday’s
game there was hope for a more level playing field..................

Sharks Drop Game Three
to St. Louis “There was a little

Being the underdog does
not faze Dan Boyle and teammates in the least. In fact it doesn’t make a bit
of difference one way or the other to the team. The goal for the San Jose
Sharks is simple in concept; every line contributes and the leaders who make
up the first line lead the charge. This is a very different role for the
Sharks who in years past have come into the playoffs as a favorite. This
season they finished in the seventh spot and they had to claw their way into
that position. Coming back home to HP Pavilion San Jose was tied with the
St. Louis Blues, the second seed, taking one game on the road in St. Louis.
The Blues hope to return the favor in a highly-tempered series. The Sharks
made it known in game two that, despite losing that game, they wouldn’t be
pushed around.

And those challenges just keep on coming, each of them tougher than the
last one. They started off with the Denver Broncos, followed by the
Bills, the Jets and now; the ultimate showdown with the New England
Patriots. It’s a tough road for the Oakland Raiders. The Silver and Black
have more than proven that they are armed and ready for all of them!
Sunday’s game was played under absolute
perfect game day conditions; a balmy 75 degrees under blues skies and yet
another sell-out for Oakland. When the Patriots come to town ghosts
from the past always seem to linger making for the absolute rivalry

lots of excitement for the upcoming
season. Losses in the pre-season
enabled coaches and team to put together a
system that looked good against the Denver

game that should have given Oakland their
second win of the season. Sunday’s

the Raiders could definitely pull off

at the Hilton Hotel in Oakland, California.
Entering the audition room you can literally
feel the pressure, nerves, and excitement being
put upon these young women. It reminded me of
myself when I tried out and made it to finals
about 5 years ago. Some of them have been up all
night practicing the dance routine and prepping
for today’s event. They arrived at 8 a.m., hair
and make-up ready in cocktail dresses and dance
attire. On behalf of Raiderdrive, I interviewed
a few lucky candidates as well as newcomer
Raiderette Director, Jeanette Thompson, before
the final auditions.

a windy day at AT&T Park with jam packed seats
on April 13th, 2011 and the last game
for the San Francisco Giants to defeat their
rivals, the L.A. Dodgers, before heading out on
a 6-game road trip. Giant’s fans hope that they
will continue the momentum of last night’s game
with the Giants winning 5-4.
Giant’s players are warming up on
the field and taking batting practice in the
batting cage prior to the game. Outfielder and
2010 MVP Cody Ross is recovering well after
straining his right calf in March. Although he
is sidelined for tonight’s game, he was seen
doing sprints and is confirmed to be on board
for the Giants trip to Arizona this weekend.

Giant’s executive suite one-by- one
appearing refreshed and at ease absent
from uniform and gear, but in casual

how they spent their off-season. “I spent
my time with family, relaxed, and built up
my strength for the season,” said
(catcher) Buster Posey. Tim Lincecum and
Matt Cain claim to have spent their time
with family and playing rounds of golf.

On an
early Sunday Morning, the Giants received a phone call saying that
Outfielder Andres Torres may be out for the rest of the season. Torres
was rushed to a San Diego hospital that morning for appendectomy.
Sources say he felt severe pain in his stomach that morning. After the
surgery, the doctors say that Torres won’t be able to play another ball
game this season. It takes at least 2 months to fully recover. Simply
this is a big loss to the Giants’ lineup.

The
Oakland Raiders took on the Seattle Seahawks Thursday night at McAfee
Coliseum for their final pre-season game of the 2010 season. It was a
night off for most of the starters and a crucial night for players
hoping for a spot on the 53-man roster. This would be their last
opportunity to catch the coach’s eye and earn a coveted spot on the
team.
It
was a perfect evening for football, a balmy 73 degrees at game time,
after a blistering heat wave had enveloped the bay area the past few
days. Mid-way through the first quarter, the Oakland Raiders had taken
the lead 10-0 off a short pass for 32 yards, #5 Bruce Gradkowski to #41
ManaseTonga and a 41 yard field goal by #1 Swayze Waters.

While it might be the pre-season, any time the Oakland Raiders and the
San Francisco 49ers clash an entirely different animal emerges. Known
forever as “the Battle of the Bay”, the winner takes bragging rights
with them for the rest of the year. This year however, there will not
only be a pre-season meeting but also a regular season one. Both teams
would like nothing more than a sweep. The regular season game will take
place in San Francisco giving the 49ers the slight edge.

When Mike Singletary proclaimed to San
Francisco 49er fans and the media that his team would be coached to play
“smash-mouth football”, questions flew asking how a team with a smaller
offensive line would produce the heavy hitting and blocking Singletary
demanded. Singletary’s desire for a harder hitting offensive line is a
product of needing to protect a quarterback, Alex Smith, who has
produced more questions than answers regarding his talent level since
his drafting in 2005 and to provide running room for running back Frank
Gore, a premiere back in the NFC.

Sharks Overcome In Game Six to Win Series
”We had his back, he had our back,”--- Joe Pavelski of goalie Evgeni
Nabokov
The first round of the
Stanley Cup playoffs was a hard fought series for the San Jose Sharks.
The eighth seed Colorado Avalanche gave San Jose all they could handle
and more. The Sharks carried the theme that Head Coach Todd McLellan
had emphasized from the very beginning. The team overcame more than
their fair share of challenging situations to find themselves headed to
the next round of the playoffs as they got past Colorado 5-2 in game
six.
"I think the few
overtimes that we won; they had chances point blank and Nabby made the
big saves. He got stronger as the series went on which was good,” said
Joe Pavelski of his goaltender. “It was good for the team. We had his
back, he had our back throughout the series and we were successful,” he
said.....

Now that we have
all digested more than our share of blood pressure medication, it’s time
to start all over again as Game 5 got underway Thursday evening at HP
Pavilion. The San Jose Sharks have gone into 3 overtimes in their four
playoff games against the Colorado Avalanche with some of the craziest
outcomes ever seen in the playoffs. With the series tied at 2 apiece,
San Jose appears to have settled in and seems to be wearing Colorado
down. These young upstarts cannot be counted out however. The
Avalanche are hungry and that’s easy to see. Their goalie Craig Anderson
continues to make miraculous save after save. Sharks goalie Evgeni
Nabokov has also been right on top of his game with some super saves.
The Sharks continues to outshoot Colorado by a wide margin and now need
to get more men in front to mask the direction of those pucks. Anderson
has been able to read way too many which accounts for a lot of those
saves.....
